Celebrate Purebred Dogs!
May 1, 2018
May 1 is National Purebred Dog Day. At UKC, we celebrate purebred dogs every day! UKC supports reputable breeders who seek to better their breed.
Each UKC recognized breed has a unique history and a specific standard against which they are compared. In Conformation events, the dogs are judged not against each other, but against their breed standard, or blueprint, to determine which dog matches the ideal image for its breed. What breed is your favorite? Select your breed from the drop-down menu to read more about it!
There are many activities in which your purebred dog can excel! Here are some helpful links to get you started.
